This beautiful shrub is not only one of the brightest colored Azaleas, it’s also one of the first to bloom every spring. After long, gray, and dreary winters, these bright shades of yellow pierce through yards and landscapes like the first warm rays of sunshine in April. The flowers grown on a Lemon LightsAzalea are notably large but more importantly, the shade of yellow changes across the blossom! Ranging from an almosttranslucent pale yellow in the tips of their petals to a brighter, sunnier, and more vivid shade in the throat of the trumpet, this unique Azalea is often considered bi-colored!

Lemon Lights is another cultivar that remains compact at maturity,reaching a height between four and five feet, with an equal spread of also four to five feet. Another great feature of all Azaleas in general is that they can be kept even smaller if desired with regular pruning!

The Lemon Lights Azalea isanother cultivar developed withthe Northern Lights series of plants by the University of Minnesota. The overarching goal of the Northern Lights series was to bring the same elements of splendorand elegance so well-known in Southern gardens to those of Northern climates as well. All plants were developed with cold-hardy attributes and Lemon Lights is no exception, producing its dazzling blossoms all the way down to -30° F!
